In recent years, numerous studies have highlighted the issue of the place of women in the arts and culture: the means at their disposal, the functions they perform, the discrimination they face. The A. Agence culturelle Nouvelle-Aquitaine, wanted to contribute to a better knowledge of this subject by conducting a study and publishing the following data.

Equality at work is the equality of rights and opportunities between women and men and concerns in particular access to employment, working conditions, training, qualification, mobility, promotion, the articulation of living times and remuneration. In recent years, numerous studies have highlighted the issue of the place of women in the arts and culture: the means at their disposal, the functions they perform, the discrimination they face.
For the first time at the Nouvelle-Aquitaine level, this study brings together key figures on higher education, training and employment in culture with benchmarks across all sectors. Based on exchanges within the framework of a regional working group, it aims to objectively and make visible the inequalities between women and men in culture and to provide all professionals with a tool for knowledge and decision-making to act.
