Music - Dance
The DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine implements the policy defined by the Ministry of Culture by adapting it to regional realities, in partnership with local authorities and in dialogue with artists and professionals in the sector. for music and dance, the intervention focuses on 3 axes: creation, dissemination and training.
The action of the DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine for music and dance is led by the counsellors and advisor for music and dance, under the authority of the Regional Director of Cultural Affairs. They deploy the policy of the Ministry of Culture in the regions. The advisors provide advice, expertise and networking missions to regional cultural actors and local authorities.
Pursuant to the Law of 7 July 2017 on freedom of creation, architecture and heritage (CASL) and other statutory instruments, their activities include:
- support for structures labeled with music and dance : Opéra national en région, Théâtre lyrique d'intérêt national, Orchestre national en région, Centre chorégraphique national, Centre de développement chorégraphique national, Scène nationale, Scène de musiques actuelles;
- the support of stages and intermediate places : in the framework of three-year agreements or projects;
- aid to artistic teams and musical ensemble : aid for several consecutive years under a company agreement, or aid for the one-off creation project. Such aid shall be awarded on the proposal of the regional advisory committees.
- the music and dance educational institutions Higher Education Centre for Music and Dance, Regional, Departmental or Intermunicipal Conservatories;
- the sector contract for current and variety music in Nouvelle-Aquitaine : the contract co-signed with the CNV, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and the RIM supports the development of the sector, particularly in the form of calls for projects;
- theroaming at the service of artistic and cultural education : Since 2018, the DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine is a pilot, with the DRAC Bretagne, in roaming. In this context, experimental roaming actions serving artistic and cultural education are deployed in 12 priority territories, determined by the DRAC, in partnership with 12 communities of municipalities and agglomeration, and cultural structures or artistic teams for better access to culture.
- the regional resource structures for music and dance: the A, Nouvelle-Aquitaine cultural agency, the OARA (Office artistique région Nouvelle-Aquitaine) and the RIM ( Réseau des Indépendants de la Musique en Nouvelle-Aquitaine) for specific professional support missions.
