The territorial commission of archaeological research of the East
The territorial commission of archaeological research of the East is responsible for issuing an opinion on the issuance of authorizations for archaeological operations in the territory of Grand Est and Burgundy - Franche-Comté and to examine the annual review and the program of interventions.
Since the publication of Decree No. 2017-156 of 8 February 2017 on the National Council for Archaeological Research and the Territorial Commissions for Archaeological Research, in accordance with Law No. 2016-925 of 7 July on the freedom of creation, in architecture and heritage, interregional archaeological research commissions have become Territorial Commissions for Archaeological Research.
The geographical areas of competence of these commissions are adapted to the territories of the new regions.
The composition of the National Council for Archaeological Research and the territorial commissions for archaeological research is extended to the representation of the different categories of operators in preventive archaeology.
The territorial commission of archaeological research Grand Est - Bourgogne - Franche-Comté sits once a month in Dijon, it is chaired by the prefect of the region Bourgogne - Franche-Comté.
Its missions
After examination of the files, it shall give its opinion for the granting of authorisations for programmed or preventive operations.
It evaluates the reports drawn up by archaeologists following the studies.
It is responsible for reviewing the annual review of activities and programming for the coming year.
It makes proposals on the archaeological activity of the two regions, including the development of publications.
