The municipalities own and are responsible for most of the objects that are an integral part of France’s heritage and that forge the cultural identity of the territories. Unfortunately, for lack of time, means or simply ignorance, they are too often threatened by oblivion, degradation or even stolen…
Collectif Objets: a new service to facilitate dialogue between local owners and curators
To support the municipalities in the preservation of this heritage, the Ministry of Culture launches a participatory census campaign, via a dedicated website Objects Collective.
The owner municipalities are contacted by the Ministry of Culture and are invited to list on this site the historical monuments of their territory, answering a short questionnaire on their state of conservation and to attach recent photos.
Based on this information, the Curators of Antiquities and Works of Art, commissioned by the DRAC Grand Est, will establish a diagnosis and will contact elected officials to guide them in their projects of valorization, restoration and security.

Collectif Objets now aims for a national deployment, with the Grand Est region in first place - this initiative was born in Haute-Marne. The countdown is launched to tour the 12,000 objects of this territory by 2026-2027.
