- 2007 : Creation of an Interregional Commission for Archaeological Research (CIRA) dedicated to overseas research
- 2010 : SDARCHETIS becomes the Archaeology Sub-Directorate within the Directorate General of Heritage of the Ministry of Culture

- 2014 : Codification of the statutory part of Book VII of the French Heritage Code, devoted to the overseas departments
- 2017: The Territorial Commissions for Archaeological Research replace the Interregional Commissions for Archaeological Research
