Philosopher by training, intellectual listened to, Patrick Bazin often
took part in the public debate by presenting its vision of the future of
libraries and reading, in the age of information technology
and the knowledge society.
His experience, his sense of audiences linked to a keen interest in
technologies and their uses, will allow it to carry out the
reflection for the renewal of the Public Library project
information, of which Frédéric Mitterrand made one of the elements
14 proposals for reading, unveiled on 30 March.
It will be assisted by a support mission, led by the General Inspection
libraries and the general inspection of cultural affairs,
to analyse the strengths and weaknesses of BPI, in advance
the development of a new cultural project.

Frédéric Mitterrand has appointed Patrick Bazin to head the public information library. This general curator of libraries, has spent most of his career in public reading in Lyon, where he has been managing libraries since 1992.
