For 6 years, Pollen, in partnership with the Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles (DRAC) Hauts-de-France and the Academic Regional Delegation for Arts and Cultural Education (EACDRA) has been offering the programme Meeting arts, cultural action residences in the region. They are part of the desire to reduce inequalities in access to culture and art.
In this context, it is sought artists of the living spectacle whose approach and research are crossed by the territorial issues to intervene in the Lycée Corot de Douai (59).
The artist’s mission is to intervene with the most large number of students the establishment of the establishment and, if applicable, the surrounding partner establishments, within the framework of the school time. For this, the artist, with the support of Pollen, develops and deploys variousResearch and production related grants and will be accompanied by the teaching teams, the district educational advisor in connection with the management team of the host institution and the national education inspection.
The residency will take the form of a presence of an artist on a 6 weeks duration (5 days per week) which may be consecutive or distributed in other ways. The artist and the teaching teams will define the calendar according to their availability or functioning.
It is specified that a discovery phase, about 2 to 3 days, based on various meetings with school officials and teachers, is recommended in December 2023. The residency phase would take place between January and June 2024.
