Artistic and cultural education in the Academy of Strasbourg
Artistic and cultural education within schools is implemented within the framework of the Gip-Acmisa (Public interest group - cultural action in schools of Alsace) formed between the Academy, the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs Grand Est, local authorities (cities of Colmar, Mulhouse, Strasbourg, Eurométropole de Strasbourg and European Collectivity of Alsace) and a patron (Crédit mutuel teacher) and in partnership with the Grand Est region.
Among all the devices supported by the GIP-Acmisa, the residence is part of the artistic and cultural education of students and radiates on a territory.
The artist residency, a specific artistic and cultural education system
The residency implements three fundamental approaches to arts and cultural education:
- the encounter with a work through the discovery of a creative process;
- Artistic practice, cultural practice through linking with different fields of knowledge;
- the construction of an aesthetic judgment.
It also encourages the discovery and attendance of places of creation and artistic diffusion.
It aims to instill a dynamic that takes into account the specific characteristics of each territory, in terms of educational, artistic and cultural issues. Thus a residence is nourished by the encounters that the artistic teams have with the population living in this territory, above all with children and young people of school age
Context of the school artist residency
In its educational and pedagogical dimension, the residence is the focal point of several projects.
- the residence is part of a project approach :
- project to create a professional artist or artistic team;
- an educational project of cultural openness, to meet the places of culture of a territory;
- the artistic and cultural aspect of the school or institution project, the residences of which may constitute a strong axis;
The choice of the school or school establishment of the residence, on the territory of the academy of Strasbourg, will be made by the Gip-Acmisa, in connection with the inspection bodies, and communicated to the selected artists early enough to allow the coconstruction of the educational project with the teaching team.
- the residence is part of the artistic and cultural education of the students and radiates on a territory ;
- the residence is implemented in a progressive and concerted manner ;
- the residence gives rise to a collective restitution, which will spread throughout the school and educational community ;
- the residence is piloted and assessed.
The cultural professionals concerned
All artistic and cultural disciplines are concerned. The call for projects is open to professionals whose significant career path is recognized by the DRAC Grand Est (see annex: intervention criteria to be met downloadable below).
The school level concerned
The school public concerned is the primary and secondary level of the Strasbourg Academy. The school level targeted by the artist must be mentioned as soon as the file is written.
Any involvement of a stakeholder requires a contract with the school or the host school.
The choice of the school or school establishment of the residence will be made by the Gip-Acmisa, in connection with the inspection bodies, and communicated to the selected artists early enough to allow the co-construction of the pedagogical project with the teaching team.
