Residences proposed in collaboration with the municipality of Lindre-Basse and the Regional Natural Park of Lorraine.
Selection criteria
The call for applications is open to artists who have completed their training for at least 2 years. Only artists with a legal structure and/or having recourse to a legal person to support their activity will be able to apply.
The artists are invited to formulate their research project by motivating the interest of a residence in the context of Lindre-Basse for the realization of this one. Projects must involve work in relation to the territory. Collaborative projects (between artists of the same or different disciplines) can be proposed. Depending on the case, dissemination of the work carried out may be envisaged with partner structures at the end of the residence.
The selected artists will be invited to participate in paid public meetings organized by the art centre as part of its mediation activities (cultural and educational activities) around its work and its residency project in Lindre-Basse.
Location and description of the residence
The workshop-accommodation is located in Lindre-Basse (300 inhabitants), in the Regional Natural Park of Lorraine and two kilometers from Dieuze (4000 inhabitants), in Moselle (1h Metz and Strasbourg, and 40 minutes from Nancy).
The estate of Lindre-Basse is a vast natural area formed around a pond, Note that the residence is a half hour drive from the Delme art center and therefore the resident does not live daily with the team of the art center.
Workshop description: 70m2 and ceiling height of 6m. Equipment: workbenches, tables, water point and basic equipment that is supplemented, as required, by tools made available by the art center.
Concrete floor, bay window, wide doors and remote control lifting system. Telephone line and broadband Internet connection. A printer and scanner are available for residents.
Description of the accommodation: two bedrooms with two ensuite bathrooms, a living-mezzanine overlooking the workshop, a kitchen and a garden.
Residency Program Terms and Conditions
The average effective duration is at least 10 weeks to be spread over a period of 3 months.
- first residence: September - November 2023
- second residence: March - May 2024
- third residence: June - August 2024
(indicative dates, adjustments are possible)
To carry out his project, the artist receives a residency allowance of 2000 euros and a production budget of 2000 euros. The latter is allocated only in the case of a production carried out within the framework of the residence, or in connection with it.
A vehicle is mandatory, Lindre-Basse being relatively isolated and few public transport links the village to cities such as Metz or Nancy. The residence is 30 minutes by car from Delme and requires a minimum of autonomy on the part of the artists on a daily basis, since the team of the art center works geographically on a site other than that of the residence.
Oral proficiency in French is also required.
The residence does not give rise to an exhibition at the art center but to a workshop opening scheduled at the end of the residence.
