What is the principle behind this call for applications?
In the light of 2024 Olympic Games, the agglomeration of Lens-Liévin received the «Terre de Jeux» label and is positioned to host top athletes in 6 sports centers. The territory has both major facilities that benefit residents and occasional visitors (the Bollaert stadium, the Arena Stade Couvert de Liévin) and recreational or sports facilities: the Olympic swimming pool in Lens, the park of the banks of the Souchez, 14 hiking trails or the sports and wellness cluster of the Agglo Vivalley, a true economic sector and training excellence.
In 2024, numerous municipal, associative and intercommunal initiatives will mobilize the inhabitants and especially young people around this popular event. This exceptional sporting event is conducive to get moving, meet each other on a new playground, move around a project, cross a place, walk together.
It is therefore sought, with a view to five mission residences which will be deployed in the territory of the Lens-Liévin agglomeration community, artists or collectives from all fields of artistic expression including at least one artist in the fields of writing, illustration or orality around the theme “All in motion”. It is hoped that digital tools and images will play an important role in this residence.
The period of residence, strictly speaking, is planned, for the 5 artists, of the February 5 to June 7, 2024A discovery and disposal phase is planned for October 2023.
