Restitution of group work
The promotion was hosted at the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle (ENSCI -Les Ateliers) by its director, member of the Session, Frédérique Pain, where the first day opened with a morning devoted to the design of public policies. Yoan Ollivier, co-founder of «Vraiment Vraiment», a general interest design collective, and Louis Béziau, co-director of Les Sismo, «design with care» presented their commitment to a better world, subject fully in line with the theme of this session. Their approach to public policy design is stimulating to reinvent together an inspiring narrative of public action. In this regard, their discourses converge to affirm that «the public actor is the key actor of the 21st century», and that it must respond to the responsibility of the policies designed, the question of their meaning, the consideration of the land and the word of the inhabitants, sustainability... Obstacles that they overcome by prototyping, by ‘playing with the future’, by working with anthropologists (for Les Sismo), or by sharing their data in an open resource (https://voilavoila.eu/.)
The ENSCI students then guided the auditors for a visit of the institution and its workshops, built on a unique teaching formula allowing each student to evolve according to a personalized path, in a great autonomy (The school is open 24 hours a day, 364 days a year.)
The afternoon was dedicated to three group presentations, during which the members of each group presented the major issues affiliated to their subjects in the presence of their peers, their referees and departmental officials interested in the topics discussed.
- "Governance, management: what inventions at work in the cultural sector, what developments to encourage?"
- “What future for the French model of culture and what role of culture in the European context?”
- “Practice at the heart of cultural experience: how can cultural actors, in their different fields, promote participatory practices?”
Dynamic, rich restitutions, resonating with each other around the cross-cutting issues facing the world of culture, such as digital transformations, the appropriate levels of governance and funding, the place of the French model or citizen participation, which sparked exciting debates.
To close the day, the group had the opportunity to discover the BIS, new exhibition hall of the ENSCI, so thanks to Vincent Poussou, listener of the session, as the exhibition on Venice at the Grand Immersive Palace.
On the second day, the listeners met in the auditorium of the National Institute of Art History (INHA), open by Hélène Szarzynski, auditor of the first session, and director general of the INHA services. Presentations continued on the following themes:
- "Cultural democracy: what is the specific responsibility of cultural heritage institutions?"
- "Territorial changes and culture: how to think of the role of culture in spatial planning as an asset for the territories of tomorrow?"
- “The transformations of artistic work”
- “Online culture: how to support changes in usage?”
The results of a year of joint reflection, the contributions formulated by the working groups aim to breathe new life into the cross-cutting issues facing the world of culture. Their reports will soon be available for consultation on the CHEC website.
Finally, the director and composer Roland Auzet, closed the session he had opened in September 2021, welcoming the melting pot of meetings that constitutes the CHEC, and forming the wish for a stronger presence of artists. Session 3 ended with the presentation of the titles of former auditor.
Thanks again to all those who made this last meeting a success! Their presence and the richness of the debates that took place witnessed a unique emulation and generosity. By maintaining the bonds that were formed, and through the meetings of the CHEC network, all will continue to imagine together the models of tomorrow!
