Ms. Rachida DATI, Minister of Culture, in full agreement with Mr. Loïg CHESNAIS-GIRARD, President of the Regional Council of Brittany, Mr. Maël De CALAN, President of the Departmental Council of Finistère, Mr. Jean-Luc CHENUT, President of the Departmental Council of Ille-and-Vilaine, Mr. Olivier BELLEC, President of the Communauté d'agglomération Concarneau Cornouaille Agglomération (CCA), Mrs Nathalie APPÉRÉ, Mayor of Rennes, Mr. François CUILLANDRE, Mayor of Brest, has decided to grant Danse, on all floors, the label of “Centre de développement chorégraphique national” (CDCN).
Created in 1997 in Rennes by Mrs Annie BÉGOT, and directed since 2020 by Mrs Natacha LE FRESNE, Danse à tous les étages is a structure of itinerant choreographic diffusion, which radiates on the Breton territory from its sites in Rennes, Brest and Concarneau, with the support of many local authorities. It plays a structuring role in terms of access to cultural practices for all.
The program of shows, artistic residencies and cultural action will be strengthened in partnership with municipalities of Morbihan and Finistère such as Rohan, Saint-Aignan, Bignan, Carhaix, Gourin, Langonnet or Baud. The culmination of a long-term process, this label illustrates the commitment of the Ministry of Culture to rural areas.
Danse à tous les étages joins the national network of 13 National Choreographic Development Centres to support and develop the presence of dance closer to the territories and their inhabitants.
