What is the principle of this call for applications?

The digital is present in all parts of society and the artistic world is no exception. He revolutionized the practices and uses of each while continuing to question what makes «art». The experience is total, immersive, animated, as close as possible to reality.

Roubaix and Tourcoing are now resolutely digital-oriented, like a new page in their history. Former territory of the textile industry, today land of film shoots, creative industries, campus of the image, Roubaix and Tourcoing are privileged territories of artistic experimentation in these fields.

At the same time, both cities are driven by the desire to reduce inequalities in access to art and culture. This ambitious objective requires the generalisation of a arts and cultural education for the children, adolescents and young adults of its territory, thus contributing to the constitution of their artistic and cultural education.

In this context, the cities of Tourcoing and Roubaix, in partnership with the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs of Hauts-de-France, the Rectorate of the Academy of Lille, the Directorate of Departmental Services of National Education of the North, in conjunction with the Conseil Départemental du Nord and the Conseil Régional des Hauts-de-France, launch two mission residences.

In view of these residence-missions, it is therefore sought artists or groups of artists using digital tools and whose practice questions it.

The period of residence-mission, strictly speaking, of a duration of 16 and a half weeks, is planned between the months of January and June 2025 : the dates of residency will be specified with the artists selected at the time of selection.
