What is the principle of this call for applications?

Driven by the desire to reduce inequalities in access to art and culture, the Community of the agglomeration of Valenciennes Métropole set the ambitious goal of generalizing a arts and cultural education.

Valenciennes Métropole, in close partnership with the Hauts-de-France Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairsde-France, the Rectorate of the Academy of Lille – Regional Academic Delegation for Arts and Cultural Education and the Departmental Direction of the National Education Services and in connection with the Departmental Council of the North and the Regional Council of Hauts-de-Francede France then proposes 5 mission residences :

• 2 mission residences in the direction artists and artistic collectives from all fields of artistic expression on the theme «The other»
• 1 mission residence at destination of authors
• 1 residence-mission for media and information education purposes, in direction journalists

These are residences of four full months, consecutive, or seventeen and a half weeks of physical presence (90 days in total), at a rate of 5 to 6 days per week, to be distributed over the period of Monday, November 18, 2024 to Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
