What is the principle of this call for applications?
Driven by the will to reduce inequalities in terms of access to art and culture, the agglomeration community of Cambrai has set itself an ambitious objective: the generalization of a arts and cultural education for the children, adolescents and young adults of its territory.
The community of communes of Sud-Artois and its partners offer three mission residencies for three professional artists from all areas of artistic expression whose research and approach are deliberately inscribed in the field of contemporary creation, serving a predominantly rural territory.
The approach is supported in close partnership with Regional Directorate for Cultural Affairs (DRAC) of Hauts-de-France, the Rectorate of the Academy of Lille – Regional Academic Delegation for Arts and Cultural Education (DRAEAC), the Department of National Education Services (DSDEN – North) and related to the northern county council.
A mission residence is by no means confused with a creation residence since there is no production issue or commission of work. For the artist-resident, it is, more particularly, to engage in an experimental approach of cultural action, in the broad sense, giving to see and understand the artistic research that animates it and the creative processes that it implements, that it shares with the public.
