General background of the project
The Jean Monnet University project for the restructuring of the Tréfilerie campus is resolutely modern by combining academic audacity, social responsibility and answers to the new expectations of students. This transformation simultaneously implements projects of various but complementary nature, able to correct the weaknesses of the campus and to give rise to new assets so that Tréfilerie finds all its attractiveness and approaches international standards.
The site is therefore rich and very ambitious, seeking the best levers to initiate the profound transformation of the campus and set it on the path of its modernization. Among these, the University has retained the idea of mixing architectural, landscape and environmental projects with the creation of new services to users or the improvement of functional practices in place.
This major project is part of the institution’s social responsibility approach and is characterized, in terms of sustainable development, by the transformation of the campus into a pedestrian zone, by creating green spaces and improving the thermal insulation of existing buildings.
Some figures on the project:
• 7,856 students
• 7 buildings or 20,000 m² rehabilitated thermally and functionally
• Construction of a new 3,175 m² building for campus life and teaching
• Create 15,000 m² campus park
• Duration of work: 2020-2024
