Call for projects Artistic and cultural education residency of choreographer in school 2024-2026

Objectives of the residence

Each year, the Théâtre de la Licorne organizes an artistic and cultural education residency with a choreographer, in partnership with the DRAC PACA and the Cannes Côte d'Azur Dance Festival. This residency offers a complete and coherent course around choreographic art to a school audience. This may involve a project to transmit a work from the company’s repertoire, the creation of a specific form for the teenagers participating in the project, or any other artistic proposal.

Periods

It will take place over 2 consecutive years in the same school with the same choreographer (e). The schedule of interventions will be constructed in consultation between the theatre mediator, the artist, the host school and the partners concerned, according to a time allocation at the rate of the school terms, as follows:

• Quarter 1 (September-December 2024 and September-December 2025) / FORM - Involving teachers: meeting and training time between the selected choreographer and the teaching team of the host institution.
• Quarter 2 (January-March 2025 and January-March 2026) / PRACTICE - Make students dance: time for workshops with students with a restitution before the April holidays.
• Quarter 3 (April-June 2025 and April-June 2026) / ANALYZE - Revisit the experience: the choreographer-in-residence returns to the institution for exchange and mediation with students and teachers(). s who participated in the project.
• Throughout the year (season 2024-25 and 2025-26) / WATCH – Attend a show(s): teachers and students participating in the residence are strongly encouraged to come to the Unicorn Theatre. The second year of the residency, this work of the gaze will refocus on the time of the Cannes Côte d'Azur Dance Festival, including the presentation of a work of the choreographer in residence on this occasion.

Proposed support

• Financial contribution of 20,000 € TTC for the season from September 2024 to June 2025 and 20,000 € TTC for the season from September 2025 to June 2026 (or 40,000 € in total over 2 seasons) for the realization of the project
• A show from the repertoire of the selected company will be scheduled during the 2025-26 season of the Théâtre de la Licorne, as part of the Cannes Côte d'Azur Dance Festival
