Call for applications - Sports journalist residency in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie

Since 2015, in particular as part of the decisions of the Interministerial Committee on Equality and Citizenship, the Ministry of Culture has made media and digital literacy a strong focus of its policy. In this context, the DRAC of the Pays de la Loire initiates dynamics around journalist residencies in the territories.

The media are at the interface between citizens, their representations of everyday life and their way of creating reality. The objective of the journalist residency is to promote media and digital education in a territory, around an information professional bringing a complementary approach to practices, especially young people.

With the approach of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, the journalism residency opens and specializes in the field of sports journalism.

The Olympic Games represent an exceptional opportunity to strengthen the link between Culture and Sport; between the Sports Project of Territory and the Cultural Project of Territory of the Country of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie Agglomeration.  As part of the Games in the Pays de Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, it is proposed to host a/ a sports journalist/ ve to promote the discovery of this profession and produce content.

Objectives

• Promote the discovery of the profession of sports journalist
• Design and record a sports-themed podcast
• Discover and practice radio writing
• Discover the techniques to comment on a live sporting event
• Design and produce a live sports commentary
• Train local actors to produce podcasts
• Support the development of a practice and an informed reception of the various media
• Raise awareness of freedom of expression and promote citizen participation in democratic debate
