Author (e): residence Mission "artist in territory" in Pays de Grasse - 2024-2025 project

The Pays de Grasse and the Direction régionale des affaires culturelles Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur are launching a call for applications for a participatory artistic and cultural project in residence for an author (e) (e).

In order to reduce inequalities in access to culture, in the field of artistic and cultural education, the Communauté d'agglomération du Pays de Grasse (CAPG) and the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (DRAC PACA) want to allow through this call for applications for an artist in residence:

  • to develop an artistic and cultural proposal in connection with a territory, the Pays de Grasse, in which the artist will endeavour to awaken audiences to his art;
  • to reflect on his approach and his creation of works.

A fair distribution of the time allotted to each artist’s mission will allow him to optimize the EAC expectations of the audiences concerned: 20% for the preparation of interventions and valorization, 55% for transmission and 25% for creation.

The common thread of the artist’s presence in Pays de Grasse is "Territory in transition".

Eligibility requirements

Can apply any artist author (e) residing in France.
The artist must be francophone and master the oral and written use of the French language.
He or she must have a valid driver’s license and have an insured personal vehicle for the many trips. 
The artist candidate (e) must have a substantial production to his credit, and be able to fully participate in this particular type of mediation action with the public that the residence represents.

Calendar and conditions of reception

  • Deadline for electronic submissions only: Friday 12 April 2024;
  • Results of the deliberations of the selection board after examination of the files and interview by videoconference on the day of Friday 29 April 2024 from 9:30 a.m.;
  • Duration: 14 non-consecutive weeks, from June 2024 to April 2025: preparation, 2 periods of residence and restitution;
  • Residence allowance: 12,500 € TTC;
  • Accommodation and travel expenses in the Pays de Grasse taken into account as well as 3 round trips home-places of residence.
