TheObservatory on equality between women and men in culture and communication is recognised as an indispensable and pioneering tool of its kind at European and global level. This twelfth edition appears, as every year, on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Established since 2013 based on data from cultural administration, public institutions and professional and collective management bodies, theEquality Observatory this year brings together more than 700 indicators in more than 90 tables on the share of women in cultural institutions and in all sectors that make up the cultural field: heritage, artistic creation, entertainment, cinema, audiovisual, book, press, media. Their presence in management positions, their income, their access to the means of creation and production and to vocational training are covered for a large part of the field.
TheObservatory It measures the progress made but also the inequalities that persist, and identifies the priorities for action so that women have access to the same opportunities, responsibilities, remuneration and recognition as men.
