In 2015, the direct economic weight of culture, that is to say the added value of all cultural branches, is 43 billion euros. The share of culture in the economy as a whole (2.2%) has been declining and represents the minimum value of this weight for 20 years. By way of comparison, the accommodation and catering industry added 55 billion euros in 2015.
