1. Journals published by the Ministry of Culture
In Situ. Heritage Review is a scientific journal published by the Ministry of Culture, on knowledge, conservation and valorization of heritage.
The main objectives of the journal are to provide all heritage specialists with a means of disseminating the results of their work on knowledge, conservation and exploitation of heritage, to foster exchanges between the different actors and disciplines of applied heritage research and to make available to the public new knowledge in this field.
Open to contributions from specialists from various institutions: universities, CNRS, heritage services of the State and local authorities, national colleges of architecture, etc. In Situ. Heritage Review is a scientific and peer-reviewed journal.
Created in 2001, it is distributed free of charge and only on electronic media, in open access on the platform OpenEdition.
The annual review ln Situ. Social Sciences The aim is to study heritage issues as a social, cultural, economic and political phenomenon and also to highlight the process of heritage. Complementing the themes covered since 2001 by the online review ln Situ. Heritage Review, it reinforces the desire to foster exchanges between the different actors and between the many disciplines that make up the heritage sciences.
All issues of the journal are available free of charge and online on the platform OpenEdition.
Technè is a journal whose purpose, since its creation in 1994, is to put science at the service of the history of art and the preservation of cultural property. Twice a year, it publishes original contributions on the application of the natural sciences and humanities to the study and preservation of cultural heritage.
The geographical and chronological field concerned is vast, ranging from ancient civilizations to modern European and extra-European worlds, from prehistory to the most contemporary art, from archaeological testimonies to artistic productions, ethnographic objects and natural history collections.
Available in both paper and electronic format, it is published by the Centre de recherche et de restauration des musées de France (C2RMF), a service with national competence of the Ministry of Culture and supported by the French Museum Service.

Monumental is the scientific and technical journal of Historical Monuments. Published by the Éditions du Patrimoine It appears twice a year to take stock of current or recently completed restoration projects. It presents exhibitions, symposia, new discoveries and publications and lists the buildings and art objects newly protected by a classification measure

2. Reviews supported by the Ministry of Culture
The magazine Art history is published under the auspices of the Association of Professors of Archaeology and University Art History (APAHAU).
Through two issues per year, the journal aims to disseminate the work of young researchers in the fields of art history, archaeology, restoration and museology, from antiquity to the contemporary period.
Research and information review, Art history aims to reflect the diversity of approaches to art and architecture. Each issue is organized around a theme. In the “Studies” section, young authors, students and PhD students often sign a first publication, based on their most recent research. The journal also invites established researchers, specialists in the topics covered, to open the issue under the heading «Perspectives».

The Revue de l'Art was founded in 1968 by André is one of the leading international scientific journals devoted to the history of Western art from the Middle Ages to the present day.
It is an instrument of diffusion both in France and abroad that maintains the spirit of analytical rigour, intellectual curiosity and openness in which its creator conceived it, while accompanying the evolution of the history of art in France and in the world.
The Review of Art is published by Éditions Ophrys, with the support of the CNRS, the Ministry of Culture and the Institut national d'histoire de l'art (INHA). It is managed by an honorary committee, a scientific council and an editorial committee.
The issues from 1985 to 1999 are digitized on the Perseus portal, without reproduction of images. The bibliographic reports prior to 2000 will be published within the framework of the project «Histara/ The reports within the framework of the call for projects of the CNRS «Innovative tools of digital processing for the exploitation and dissemination of data».

Published by the Musée de d'Archéologie nationale - Domaine national de Saint-Germain-en-Laye and the Société des Amis du Musée et du Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye with the assistance of the Service des Musées de France, National antiquities is an annual scientific journal that has existed since 1969.
Its objective is to promote and disseminate the work of ArchéoMuse, the professional network of archaeology in museums. This work concerns the history of the institutions and archaeological collections preserved in the museums of France, and particularly those of the National Archaeological Museum, of which they present the enrichment (acquisitions, deposit policy, history of collections), study, conservation and valorization (digitization, mediation, scientific and cultural project...). The actuality of French archaeology and its museums is highlighted there: colloquia, establishment project, actions towards the public, life of museums. The authors are the scientific staff of museums and researchers (EHESS, CNRS, Ecole du Louvre, French and foreign universities).

Asian arts is an annual international journal of rank A, placed under the scientific responsibility of the École française d'Extrême-Orient in partnership with the Musée national des arts asiatiques-Guimet and the Musée Cernuschi. It is supported by the French Museum Service of the Ministry of Culture. Created in 1924, the Revue des arts asiatiques is entitled Arts Asiatiques depuis 1962. Since then, its issues are available on Perseus.
The magazine Asian Arts is dedicated to the arts of Asia and is a link between the world of research and that of museums. It is a publishing body for scientific articles on field archaeology or ancient architecture in Asian countries, on the history of Asian art and collections. Each article is summarized in English, French, Chinese and Japanese.
Asian Arts is also a tool for presenting the activities and current events of the National Museum of Asian Arts-Guimet and the Cernuschi Museum: acquisitions, exhibitions. Finally, it highlights scientific publications that it presents through their themes.
Culture & Museums is an international biannual journal of museology carried by Avignon University and supported by the Université Grenoble-Alpes, the CNRS-INSHS, the Norbert Elias Centre (UMR 8562), and the Ministry of Culture. She succeeds Public & Museums in 2003. As a Qualifying Journal (HCERES) and a Rank A, it is particularly intended to publish unpublished research on culture, heritage, museums and their audiences. Previously published in print (Actes Sud), it has been published in digital format since 2018 on the OpenEditions platform.

Each delivery (June and December) is a collective project that deepens a theme in the form of a dossier. Under the responsibility of a guest editor who is a specialist, it brings together various contributions of researchers dedicated to the subject. Created in 2017 and available on OpenEditions Journals since 2022, Focal lengths is devoted to the study of photographic practices and realizations - whether these fall within the field of art or broader uses that infuse the whole of society. The analysis of the work taken into consideration is intended to be open-ended: aesthetics and the sciences of art intersect approaches of history, of visual studies or inter-medial studies; the varied contributions of the human and social sciences are also mobilized. If contemporary is privileged, the chronological empan concerned extends from the nineteenth century to the present day, without geographical limitation.
The magazine is intended to be useful to students and researchers in photography, but also to photographers, mediators, gallery owners, curators, publishers, in short, to all those who bring photography to life. It has an international scientific committee. Each issue includes a thematic “Dossier”, a “Varia” section, a “Notes de lecture” section, or two interviews and a portfolio highlighting a photographic work.

The magazine Holder/Trace aims to make specialists, amateurs and the public aware of the conservation of graphic and photographic heritage. This heritage, made up of fragile materials, is constantly under threat: attacks on the environment and passing time, daily dangers and exceptional dangers. Conservators, curators, chemists and microbiologists contribute their work and publications to disseminate information aimed at those responsible for archives and public collections as well as bibliophiles, drawing collectors, prints and photographs.
Each issue presents a dossier bringing together articles on a theme or place, scientific studies, restoration cases, historical notes, technical notes and bibliographies, as well as thematic meetings, of the Association for Scientific Research of Graphic and Photographic Arts (ARSAG). A «news» section informs about recent events such as reopenings of heritage places, new exhibitions, occurrence of disasters and the rescues that follow, displacements of works, or publications of works...
