The support provided by private actors - companies, foundations and individual donors - is essential to the development of cultural activity. In this area, the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture is to ensure the promotion of existing incentives, the dissemination of good practices and the recognition of the State towards patrons.
Through the sponsorship mission and its network of correspondents, the ministry regularly organizes meetings on current issues, advises sponsors and project leaders and takes part in reflections on changes in legislation. It builds relationships of trust and lasting partnerships with private actors who wish to engage in a process that creates values and public interest.

Circle of Patrons of Culture
Following the law of 1 August 2003 on patronage, associations and foundations, distinctions have been created for patrons of culture. A decree of the Minister of Culture of 7 September 2005 officially instituted them. This decree and its implementing decree were updated in October 2016.
The mission of patronage and its contacts
Created in 2003, the mission of the patronage established and animates a network of «sponsors correspondents» in the directorates, central and regional, and institutions of the Ministry of Culture.
