The fight against the theft and illicit trafficking of cultural goods is a major challenge for the Ministry of Culture, in its regal role of controlling the circulation of cultural goods. Through a constant and concerted action between all actors, in application of the laws and regulations in force, are made possible the protection of cultural property, in particular national treasures, the prevention of theft, transfers or restitution of stolen or lost property, and acquisitions for French public collections.
