Gallery of inspiring projects
This gallery presents a number of projects carried out around the theme of intangible cultural heritage in the ultramarine territories.
Intangible cultural heritage is a living and constantly changing heritage. Communities, groups and individuals are the main actors in any process of identification, recognition and safeguarding of practices, know-how, knowledge and forms of expression which they regard as part of their intangible cultural heritage. The State and the administrative and cultural institutions play a supporting role for projects in this field.
This gallery aims to show the initiatives and projects of valorization, safeguarding and artistic creation around the intangible cultural heritage of the ultramarine territories co-built with communities, groups and individuals and supported by associations, groups, companies, independent artists, artisans, institutions, cultural local authorities among others.
Some projects are structured around the transmission of knowledge and know-how, others aim to create links between artistic creation and PCI, stimulating their vitality. Many projects demonstrate the close links between intangible cultural heritage and sustainable development.
