12,300 scholarship students and 8,000 international students
delivering more than 40 national degrees
for annual budget, including 8 million from own funds
The Ministry of Culture is leading a extensive network of schools spread evenly across the national territory, Outremer included. They train in architecture, heritage, visual arts, performing arts and audiovisual cinema. Other key areas of the cultural sector (archaeology, archives, books, etc.) are the responsibility of the university.
In response to the problems of the student community, the challenges for the ministry are numerous: opening wide access to the ESC, offering a learning framework allowing the success of all, proposing solutions to the difficulties of everyday life, anchor the ESC internationally, or further strengthen the vocational integration of graduates.
Of the network, 77 schools are signatories to the Erasmus+ Charter, representing 90% of the ESC student population. This European and international openness translates into a double mobility in training paths: every year, 1,400 students go abroad while 800 students are welcomed in one of the ESC institutions (2018 figures).
40 structures carry out research within the ESCnot to mention the heritage establishments that have a dedicated mission. 4 sectors are covered: heritage research, the architectural, urban and landscape research, the research in favor of artistic creation and cross-cutting research.
