The Department’s Areas of Action

A major challenge for the Ministry of Culture, the control of the movement of cultural goods benefits from the constant action of a plurality of actors, brought together by the common challenge of combating their illicit trafficking. These missions include the protection of national treasures, the export control of cultural property, the prevention of theft, the return of stolen or missing property, and acquisitions for public collections. These actions are carried out within a legislative and regulatory framework and some of them are part of European and international cooperation.
