Mosaic portraits of archaeologists. A quarter of a century of French archaeology
In 2019, the National Council for Archaeological Research (CNRA) celebrates its 25th anniversary, a quarter of a century of French archaeology that has undergone profound changes. This anniversary was the occasion to launch a project to create a collection of audio-visual archives of archaeology. Through portraits of archaeologists, men and women from different generations and institutions, a plural and mosaic history of archaeology is emerging.
This film is a first version, conceived in a four-part scenario from the creation of the CNRA in 1994 to the perspectives for the archaeology of tomorrow. This project will soon be extended by the assembly of individual portraits and other interviews, so that the history of archaeology can be written one day also thanks to these archives.
