Built in the seventeenth century, the seigneurial home of the Javelière presents the traditional physiognomy of the houses of pleasure of that time. The park of Javelière must have been planted in the eighteenth century but there is nothing to imagine what this garden was then. After some vicissitudes, the whole was acquired in 1992 by the current owners. Since then, they have focused on the beautification of the park, which has now become a so-called “English” landscaped park. The spirit of the garden is characterized by the search for surprise effects obtained by plant partitions and the creation of varied atmospheres.
The plantations are made around some botanical themes such as roses (Collection approved by the CCVS of botanical roses, old and modern roses), diversified plantations of trees and ornamental shrubs, shade plants, etc. Today, the Parc de la Javelière includes nearly 850 varieties of trees and shrubs, 200 varieties of conifers and more than 600 varieties of roses.
