Documentation centre
The Heritage Documentation Centre consists of a specialized library, archives of historical monuments and a documentary collection on the heritage of Reunion Island.
The funds are accessible to all and can be consulted on site, by appointment.
The library
The library consists of specialized works on cultural policies, heritage conservation and restoration, as well as architecture and urbanism.
A large part of the library is dedicated to the history and heritage of Reunion Island.
The catalogue is available online.
The archives of historical monuments
Each building registered or classified as a historical monument gives rise to the establishment of a protection file, including historical information as well as administrative parts and iconographic elements (plans and photographs).
This file is completed by the archives of works on monuments: preliminary studies, architectural and technical projects (PAT) and documentary files of works executed (DDOE).
These archives can be consulted after the completion of the work.
The local documentary collection
The documentation center keeps several inventory studies on the Reunion Island heritage established according to themes (hydraulic heritage, gardens, social housing and public facilities) or according to urban areas.
These studies can be communicated on request to the documentalist.
The POP database (Open Heritage Platform) as well as the Heritage Atlas allow you to consult the heritage funds of the Ministry of Culture.
