Cinema and audiovisual
Within La Réunion’s Creative Hub, the Cinema - Audiovisual Advisor is responsible for implementing, in the regions, the policy defined by the Ministry of Culture in these areas.
La Réunion DAC is developing, in conjunction with the Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC) and in partnership with local authorities, a structuring policy for the territory in the fields of audiovisual and cinema. The objective is to:
- promoting cultural diversity and balanced cultural development;
- maintain an independent and modern broadcasting network;
- Promote access to image education and film practice for all;
- support the creation and production of films and audiovisual productions through a State/CNC/Region co-financing scheme (multi annual cooperation agreement)
The action ofu advisor focuses on three main areas:
- information, advice and expertise
- support for creation, dissemination, structuring and outreach within the framework of the State/CNC/Region convention

Advisor’s main missions:
- it provides information and advice to project promoters, cultural operators and local authorities;
- it shall examine applications for grants from the DAC of La Réunion relating to the discipline for which it is responsible;
- it shares its expertise with the administrations that request it (Ministry of Culture and other ministries, local authorities, other operators, etc.);
- it investigates the files submitted to the "Departmental Commission for Commercial Development" (CDAC) ruling on film (construction, enlargement, modernization of film equipment);
- it monitors national image education systems (School and cinema, Film College, High school students and film apprentices, Image Smugglers, Des cinés la vie…) in partnership with the CNC and the Rector of La Réunion ;
- it contributes to the development of access to culture, by encouraging a better distribution of cultural resources in the territory and innovative initiatives aimed at diversifying audiences.
Budget :
The budget allocated to the DAC of La Réunion mainly concerns image education schemes (School and Cinema, Film College, Secondary School and Cinema Apprentices, Image Smugglers, Cinemas Life, etc.). Support for the writing, development, and production of cinematographic and audiovisual works is organized in partnership with the CNC and the Regional Council within the framework of a multi-year agreement State/CNC/Region, which entrusts to theAgence Film Réunion organizing calls for projects and selection committees.
