Theatre, circus, street arts, puppet art in the Pays de la Loire
The Theatre, Circus, Street Arts, Puppet Arts Department of the DRAC implements the policy of the Ministry of Culture around 3 main axes: creation, dissemination and training in the four artistic fields theatre, circus, street arts, puppet arts. DRAC plays an advisory role to cultural partners and communities.
DRAC Pays de la Loire promotes the development of these four professional sectors in the regional territory. It monitors and evaluates theatre, circus and street arts companies, as well as labeled venues.
Its action aims to improve the conditions of development of these sectors by promoting the creation, optimization of networks and the structuring of broadcasting on an inter-regional and national or even international scale. As such, it carries out an analysis of the specificities and assets of the region, in particular through its mission of expertise.
The service organizes technical meetings with cultural professionals who give an advisory opinion on the artistic quality and professionalism of the creative projects submitted to it, as well as on the relevance of the convening of artistic teams.
He participates in the National Stages Board and General Assembly and the National Drama Centre (CDN) and the National Centre for Street and Public Space Arts (CNAREP) monitoring committees. It accompanies the directors of the structures under agreement in the elaboration of multiannual agreements of objectives (CPO) signed with the State which define the missions of these structures around their artistic and cultural project. It also contributes to the drafting of guidelines for the recruitment of directors of the Scènes nationales, the stages conventionnées, the centre dramatique national, the centre national des arts de la rue and in the public space, in accordance with national guidelines.
The department is in charge of the supervision of theatrical education in conservatories with regional and departmental influence and participates in juries at the end of the year.
Finally, it contributes to the development of cross-cutting policies for arts education and cultural action, such as city policy, European policy, arts education and cultural development conventions.

Dram CentreNational
The National Drama Centres (NDCs) are emblematic institutions of the State’s policy of dramatic decentralization over the past seventy years. There are 38 CDNs in France, one of which is located in Angers: the Théâtre du Quai. Creation and production structures directed by one or more artists engaged in the theatrical field, CDNs are major and structuring tools for the design, manufacture and production of theatrical works.
The DRAC has signed a dramatic decentralization contract, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, with the Théâtre du Quai. This contract defines the commitments of each party for the implementation of theatrical creation missions of general interest within the framework of the objectives defined by the specifications and specifications of the CDN label (see opposite).
The National Centre fors Street Arts and de the Public Space
The structuring of national centres for street arts and public space (CNAREP) and their inclusion among the networks labeled in 2010 is the culmination of a policy of support for the street arts sector and public space implemented for twenty years.
The CNAREP supports artistic and cultural projects for the public space as well as the career paths of artists by supporting their territory of establishment. They are the reference institutions for the creation, dissemination and presentation to the public of artistic projects designed for public space. They participate in the recognition and qualification of street arts and public space.
There are now 14 CNAREP in France, including one in Angers: la Paperie, supported by DRAC Pays de la Loire.

Soutien to local arts companies
The aid scheme for professional dramatic artists and companies is defined by the Decree No. 2015-641 of 8 June 2015, the order of 22 December 2015 and the circular no. 2016/003 of 4 May 2016 on the modalities for allocating deconcentrated aids to live performance.
The companies of theatre, ofstreet arts, circus and of art of the puppet Two types of aid are available: project aid and conventionalization aid.
With regard to convening aid, the DRAC provides assistance to the operation of the company over a period of 3 years. This assistance is intended to support confirmed artistic teams who have demonstrated their ability to diversify or retain production partners.
