The Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs (DRAC) and the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department have been working together for several months to build a first CDLI. The latter has just been signed for a period of 3 years.
The CDLI aims to support the support dynamics carried by the departmental library with its network, the strengthening of its visibility and the development of cultural proposals and participatory mechanisms, In particular, the target groups identified: seniors and youth. Thus, a steering committee composed of Maylis Descazeaux (director of the DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine), Arnaud Travade (adviser to the DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine), Jean-Jacques Lasserre (president of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques Departmental Council), Nicole Darrasse (delegated to the public reading and the departmental archives), Olivier Vissières (Director of Culture) and Natacha Chartier (Director of the departmental library), will define each year the programme of actions, which will be the subject of technical and financial support from the DRAC.
In 2023, the DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine annual grant is €24,500.
The departmental contract reading roaming (CDLI)
The CDLI is intended to strengthen the networks of public reading, in a logic of cultural action of proximity. It is addressed to departmental councils and is based on departmental libraries. It primarily targets rural areas in order to reinforce cultural proposals and the engineering of the departmental library. Closer to small libraries and residents, the CDLI promotes equal access to culture throughout the territory.
