Marie M., social worker at the Red Cross
Culture as a parenthesis
The Red Cross is used to linking artistic creation and encounters through collective time. For its first participation in the Cultural Summer, the establishment wanted to focus its cultural action around sharing.
“ Opening the doors of the shelter to culture in this way is a first for the structure.»
Emmanuel G., project leader
It is a convivial afternoon, bringing together a hundred people hosted by the Red Cross around a magic show and a participatory concert, which opened the festivities. It is then Toma Sidibé, musical artist born in Africa working with his djembe, his guitar and speaking French, bambara and sometimes sign language, who intervened five times with the public of the Red Cross. It is often said that music is a universal language and Toma Sidibé is the best ambassador, since he speaks about everything and everyone, in music.
Other times of creation, live shows, appropriation of tales, but also strolling and musical aperitif punctuated the Cultural Summer of the Red Cross. “ Dancing, singing, playing… even if we have problems, it allows us to enjoy and come together to live these little moments. »
Sylvie A., a participant.
