Through more than 70 events offered throughout Normandy, Chantiers communs invites everyone to experience the region together. It is about bringing together singular approaches, to deal with their great diversity, to invent more ecological and solidary ways of living and inhabiting. An overview of this programme, which runs from 1 to 30 March 2024.
Territories pionniers
At the origin of the Chantiers communs architecture festival, Pioneer territories is a regional cultural structure of architectural and urban mediation based in Caen and member of the Network of houses of architecture. Territoires pionniers conducts sustainable and unique field projects: workshops, residencies, meetings and public events. It actively participates in the ecological and social transformation of the territory by opening spaces for exchange and experimentation involving inhabitants, professionals, elected officials and local actors.
Joint projects
Of 1st to 30th March 2024, the 6th edition of Chantiers communs invites you to explore more ecological and solidary ways of living and inhabiting our territories!
After 5 first editions, Chantiers communs invites you to engage even more in the field. While continuing to rethink our ways of inhabiting our environments, a call to take the side of the rivers will be launched along the Orne, Risle or Siena, rivers and Norman rivers. By investigating the materiality of our cities and their architectures, this new edition also questions the heritage that we are building and the possible bifurcation towards a short circuit architecture, which already relies partly on an existing heritage, In particular, the Reconstruction sector, and the Norman sectors in full structuring (bio- and geo-sourced materials, reuse). Finally, as alerts intensify in Normandy as elsewhere, our acclimatization to the effects of climate change becomes the business of all. Researchers, communities, professionals will share their studies, visions and experiences from diverse territories that are now vulnerable.
Program
Inhabit environments
In Normandy as elsewhere, many people pay attention and care to the environments they live in. On a daily basis, they try to establish and cultivate multiple relationships with these landscapes and the beings who inhabit them, thus inventing anchored, solidary and regenerative ways of living. Meet those who nurture these connections to the world, and in turn, live sensitive experiences immersed in these living territories.
