Music
The music department ensures the implementation and evaluation of the musical and choreographic policies of the Ministry in Île-de-France. Its scope of intervention covers all aesthetic fields, the sectors of education and training, heritage, creation, dissemination and cultural action.
Our missions
The tasks of the department concern in particular the monitoring of national label establishments and designations, the monitoring of contractual procedures, the support mechanisms for creation.
Since 2019, the music department registers and develops its actions within the Regional Creative Service, with the Theatre and Associated Arts Department and the Visual Arts Department.
La Muse en Circuit
A National Music Creation Centre (CNCM) is a structure run by one/more personality(s) having a recognized artistic experience in the field of composition or musical creation and whose project has a general interest in the design and production of experimental and innovative musical works. The CNCM works for a renewal of musical forms and aesthetics through the production and distribution of works on their territorial spaces of implantation and more widely on the national and international level.
La Muse en Circuit, directed since 2013 by Wilfried Wendling works for the creation, the accompaniment of artists in residence and the dissemination of multidisciplinary sound artistic works. La Muse en Circuit is committed to research, ensuring a technological watch for the development of tomorrow’s music. It also develops actions in favor of the transmission of musical practices and knowledge.
"Vocal art centres work to promote vocal art in all its choral, soloist and chamber music dimensions, without any particular aesthetic prism and with all audiences, professionals or amateurs. Priority is given to supporting and enhancing the choral dimension."
Accentus
Accentus is a chamber choir founded in 1991 by conductor Laurence Equilbey. He is involved in the a cappella repertoire, contemporary creation, oratorio and opera. Accentus acts in the Ile-de-France and Normandy territories through artistic education and awareness-raising, support in the professional integration of young singers, transmission and sharing of resources.
Orchestre national d'Ile-de-France – ONDIF, Chamber Orchestra
A regional national orchestra is a structure managing a national orchestra with permanent artistic jobs and whose project is of general interest in the production and distribution of symphonic music. This label is a national reference network for symphonic music for the promotion and renewal of repertoires, diversity of forms, aesthetics and their interpretations.
The National Orchestra of Île-de-France - ONDIF promotes the symphonic repertoire, covering four centuries, on the Ile-de-France territory. He is particularly interested in reaching new audiences through various cultural activities: workshops, meetings, videos, concerts and meetings. Led by conductor Case Scaglione, the ONDIF pursues an open, educational and participatory artistic policy.
The Paris Chamber Orchestra
European reference, integrates the new generation of French musicians. Radiating on the metropolis of Greater Paris, it conducts actions towards the public. The Paris Chamber Orchestra strives to include the so-called "fragile" audiences.
"A cultural meeting centre meets two major objectives: the safeguarding and enhancement of heritage, and the implementation of a creation and transmission project based on a specific cultural theme. These objectives are articulated in a single project on the whole site. Laboratories of experimentation on the animation of heritage and the relationship between heritage and creation, spaces of applied research, the Cultural Centers of meeting associate to their approach the population as a whole." The Abbaye and Fondation Royaumont located in Asnières-sur-Oise carries out a multidisciplinary cultural project. Focusing on the transmission of knowledge, research and dialogue between languages and artistic practices, this CRR receives a varied audience with a rich program around music, dance, visual arts, theater, poetry or literature.
Contemporary music scenes (SMAC)
A contemporary music scene is a structure carrying an artistic and cultural project of general interest in the field of contemporary music such as: song, jazz and improvised music, traditional music and world music, rock, pop, electro or rap, which can be articulated by other artistic disciplines. A SMAC promotes, accompanies and promotes the musical creation defended by professional artists as well as amateurs. It promotes the intersection and development of artistic practices by contributing to a policy of general interest.
Scenes of national interest (SCIN)
A Stage of National Interest (SCIN) is an artistic and cultural institution whose mission is: multidisciplinary artistic dissemination, support for contemporary creation and cultural action for the public. This label recognizes a structure committed to equal access to its artistic offer, in an expanded territory.
