Director of the National Archaeology Museum – Domaine national de Saint-Germain en Laye since 2012, Hilaire MULTON has served respectively as a heritage advisor, museums, archives, art history, memory to the Minister of Culture and Communication from 2010 to 2012, as deputy director of the Centre culturel français de Turin from 2007 to 2010, a permanent consultant to the Centre for Analysis and Forecasting at the Department of Foreign Affairs from 2005 to 2007 and a technical adviser for speeches, studies and foresight of the Secretary of State for Health Insurance from 2004 to 2005.
He has also taught at Université Paris-Dauphine (2014-2020), Université Jean Moulin Lyon III (Lecturer, 2005-2007), Université de Limoges (2004-2005) and Université Paris XII-Créteil (1997-2000).
Professor of History in 1994, Hilaire MULTON was a student at the École Normale Supérieure (Ulm) from 1992 to 1997 before completing a PhD thesis of 3e Cycle in History at the University Paris XII – Val de Marne in 2002. He was also a member of the French School of Rome, modern and contemporary history section from 2000 to 2003.
Hilaire MULTON has authored 60 publications: books, catalogues, textbooks, articles and essays in the fields of history, art history and heritage policies and has been general curator of 4 exhibitions.
An arts and letters officer, Hilaire Multon is also a volunteer with several associations in the field of health (Kidney Foundation) and disability (Autour des williams).
