In Nord-Pas-de-Calais, 53 gardens took part in the event, of which a dozen were open for the first time. Initial attendance figures indicate approximately 5,000 visitors.
New participants include the garden of Yvon Ghillebaert Godewaersvelde (North) with 70 visitors, the Chimonobambusa Trail Hellemmes (North) with 114 visitors and the garden of small paths Wavrin (North) with 63 visitors.
The gardens labeled «Remarkable garden» welcomed many visitors: the arboretum park of the manor with wolves Halluin (North) with 82 visitors, the garden of the Lianes, to Chériennes ( Pas-de-Calais), 61, or the garden of Sylvie Fontaine in Maroilles (North), 31.
These days were punctuated by exhibitions of paintings, as Sculpture and garden Bergueneuse (Pas-de-Calais), from photos, for example the hare garden in Sercus (North) but also by many guided tours related to the national theme, the garden of Joêts in Eecke (North).

Musical moments like the festival of classical music at the Musica Nigella garden in Tigny-Noyelles (Pas-de-Calais), a opera concert in the garden of the Berghes hotel in Saint-Omer (Pas-de-Calais) or hunting horn concert the garden of the living bee museum in Bouin-Plumoison (Pas-de-Calais) delighted the many participants.
The public confirmed its interest in gardens by visiting the 2,200 public and private gardens open throughout France and participated in the 4,000 animations proposed: guided tours, exhibitions, workshops, conferences around the theme 2012.
