In the Hauts-de-France region, «Start in book» will be officially launched Wednesday 10 July in Dunkerque with the installation of the «livodrome» in the presence of Vincent Monadé, president of the National Book Centre and Marc Drouet, regional director of cultural affairs.
More than 95 communes of Hauts-de-France participate in this emblematic event punctuated by writing workshops, readings in unusual places, meetings of authors and games organized by the actors of the book to promote the book and reading to the youngest.
In Condé-sur-Escaut in the North, the media library «Le quai» invites the public to discover the complexity of lunar space flights and the difficulties overcome by NASA to win the «race to the moon» through the exhibition «Appolo 1961-1972».
In Pas-de-Calais, the public reading network of the Communauté d'agglomération des deux baie en montreuillois and the municipal media libraries of Touquet-Paris-Plage, Camiers, Etaples-sur-Mer and Saint-Josse-sur-Mer exhibit Fanny Ducassé «Lemon pie, tea and stars» in Berck. The Rouvroy Media Library offers an appointment around a tree at the Warsaw Ghetto Park (Hippodrome residence) or Blanchart Square – Saint-Louis residence, as well as a children’s cinema.
The Château-Thierry media library in the Aisne region offers «Eau-Feu, à demi-mot en musique», a project that mixes genres by combining music and educational actions with the objective of developing access to books. In Condren, the media library invites to the creation of a giant and collective fresco in the manner of Hervé Tullet. It also offers a reading corner in the shade of the trees to settle comfortably to taste books on site without moderation.
In Meru, in the Oise, the media library plays the game in the park. Games sessions on the theme of books and reading are offered and animated by the children of the Educational Success Program. In addition, the Creil media library organizes games and stories about Creil on the banks of the Oise.
In the Somme, the Cardan association in Amiens offers a meeting with Claire Garallon, author-illustrator around workshops of creation, writing and illustration. Finally, the Community Library of Airaines gives «Envie de lire» through a project for children’s literature for children aged 6 to 10 years in the territory of the Community of Communes Somme Sud-Ouest.
National and popular event «Partir en livre» invites young and old to meet the book and enjoy reading. This year, ZEP, the cartoonist of Titeuf put in the spotlight, brings a great visibility to this event that continues to grow in popularity.
Going to book is an event desired by the Ministry of Culture and organized by the National Book Centre with the participation of the Salon du Livre et de la Presse Jeunesse en Seine-Saint-Denis (SLPJ).
