Le heritage, vector of citizen consciousness
The 2016 theme allowed visitors to (re)discover the places where citizenship was built. Among the many places, theHohsuch as Hailly d'Aigremont military governor’s seat in Lille was greatly appreciated with 1,000 visits, as was theAmiens Town Hall which totalled 1 000. True place of power, the Prefecture du Pas-de-Calais in Arras, counted for 1 100 visits on the weekend. TheHohsuch Scrive, seat of the Drac and the site of Amiens housed in the former Convent of the Visitandines, have received 700 visitors.
From monument to collective history
The Villa Cavrois Cross in the North, opened for the second time after its restoration, welcomed 2 160 visitors. In the Pas-de-Calais, 1 573 curious were able to discover the Citadel of Montreuil. Likewise, the Palace of Compiègne and the Pierrefond Castles in the Oise region have aroused great interest among the population with respectively 5 870 and 4044 visitors. Finally, the cathedral of Amiens in the Somme has allowed more than 4 000 people to discover this emblematic place of worship of the region.
The cultivation : a search for meaning, an element of citizenship and identity
If heritage embodies a structuring landmark in space and time, it is also at the foundation of our identity. Among the many museums registered this year, the Palace of Fine Arts of Lille in the North welcomed 5 500 visitors. Also, the Guise’s pet in the Aisne with 1 900 visitors, the Lewarde Historical Mining Centre with 1 139 visitors or the Jules Verne House in Amiens with 1673 visitors.
In France, more than 12 million visitors, a figure comparable to those of the previous three years, participated Saturday and Sunday in the 33th Heritage days, under the theme "Heritage and citizenship".
