The 7th edition of the National Architecture Days will take place on 14, 15 and 16 October 2022. Initiated by the Ministry of Culture in 2016, these days are intended to federate initiatives that contribute to the discovery of architecture and its professions by all audiences. They aim to illustrate the presence of architecture in all territories, whether large projects or everyday constructions.
The 2022 edition of the National Architecture Days explores the «Architectures to inhabit». This broad theme allows the public to discover inhabited places, housing itself to the neighborhood that surrounds it, to detect the qualities and appreciate the cultural and creative dimension of architecture, which translates our lifestyles and stimulates our emotions. Participants will learn how architects are designing spaces for well-being through new construction techniques, using healthier and more resource-efficient materials.
The Architecture Days in Hauts-de-France
In Hauts-de-France, more than 70 events are offered, spread over the five departments of the region. During three days, architecture can be seen in all its dimensions, through urban walks, debates, film screenings, exhibitions, site visits, open doors or workshops for young audiences.
The agency «Brazier et Nervo» in Abbeville in the Somme invites students of several colleges and high schools to discover the world of architecture in a playful way, in different forms. Thus, an idea contest will be proposed to them with the theme of this 7e publishing. To carry out this project, they will have for materials unexpected mediums like negative photos to mobilize all their imagination. They will also attend screenings of documentary films on the world of architecture and discover the different stages in the realization of a project in a dynamic and visual way, in 2D and 3D.
In Wervicq-Sud In the North, the agency DUC-FAVA Architecture, offers to the public to visit a passive house, building perfectly isolated from the cold and the hot as well as a family workshop entitled «Imagine our ideal home with family». The public will be able to build their ideal house in miniature.
The prefigurator pavilion of the House of Heritage of Saint-Omer in the Pas-de-Calais opens its doors on the occasion of this emblematic event.
In Chantilly "City of art and history", the public will leave with a lecturer to discover the history of the district «Le Coq Chantant», its architect, the construction processes of the years 1950-60, of the impact on the population of Chantilly and will end with a visit to the church of Saint-François.
During the Trente Glorieuses, the urbanism of this city in Oise underwent a real transformation with the construction of large complexes and new neighborhoods on the outskirts of the city. «The Crowing Rooster» is one of these most striking examples. Designed by the architect Jean George, the district has a great architectural unity with residential buildings, but also a church and a school.
