Conditions of access
The documentation centre of the Regional Archaeological Service (SRA) is open to the public by appointment. Consultation is only on site.
Bibliographic searches
The library catalogue (books and articles of periodicals) is available on Frantiq (collective catalogue specialising in archaeology). Archaeological operation reports and archives are stored in local databases accessible through the documentalist. It will be requested for consultation of the archaeological operation reports to fill in a Cerfa form.
The collections
The library, in open access, contains books and journals. The library covers all chronological periods and contains all archaeological publications on the Centre-Val de Loire region. Academic dissertations and theses are available upon request.
Les archaeological operations reports : The SRA maintains a copy of all archaeological operation reports on the region since the 1960s. They are available on request.

Arch inventoryeological
SFA Archaeological Inventory Data Release
Requests for archaeological data must be made in writing (email). The research subject must be indicated, possibly explained. The purpose of the research should be clearly defined from a geographical, thematic and chronological point of view, specifying the expected data.
What are the possible queries? Database queries may include:
- the nature and chronology (by period) of the remains
- transactions in a sector
- data sources (list of reports, etc. for a sector or theme)
The SRA has maps drawn up internally from a GIS that can be made available to researchers: oppida of the Central region, boundaries of ancient cities (Carnutes, Senons, Turons, Bituriges Cubes), dioceses, ancient road networks (major axes).
The information is returned in the form of: sheets, lists, maps, tables (TXT, DBF), georeferenced data (shape)
NB: For all data provided, a commitment form must be completed and signed.
