At the beginning of 2023, the Centre-Val de Loire region has 66 museums in France: 44 open museums, 3 open occasionally, 18 closed, 1 under construction. Last museum labeled: Le Malesherbois. Atelier-Musée de l'imprimerie (AMI). Labeled "Musée de France" by prefectural decree of 26 December 2022 (published in the collection of administrative acts N°R24-2023-002 published on 23 January 2023)
