Archaeological Documentation Centre
The documentation centre of the Regional Archaeological Service is the place of conservation of all information on the archaeological heritage of Brittany. It also offers resources on archaeology in Europe.

Located on the university campus of Beaulieu (Avenue Charles Foulon, 35700 Rennes), it is open from Monday to Thursday from 9h00 to 12h30 and from 13h30 to 17h00 (please make an appointment).

On the spot?
It contains all documents relating to the knowledge and location of archaeological sites (or archaeological entities), the organization and carrying out of archaeological operations in the region:
6000 works (monographs, conference proceedings, academic works, regional, national and foreign journals) and 120 magazines, open access. About 300 titles join our collections each year.
The entity files They contain descriptions, photographs, slides, discovery sheets, etc.
The full version of Patriarch, archaeological database, allowing geo-referenced location of archaeological entities and operations, on computer stations. It is possible to save the results of your research
Over 4100 excavation reports digitized (preventive and programmed excavations) since 1951, all in consultation on computer stations.
The person in charge of the centre, Jean-Manuel Conilleau, in charge of documentary studies, provides assistance and advice for research and produces thematic bibliographies.

Remotely, you can consult various interesting resources:
The SFA Digital Library : more than 3,200 reports of archaeological operations in Brittany. Digitized or natively digital, they are searchable but not downloadable because subject to the Code of Intellectual Property. The few reports that are not published on the Internet, by the will of their authors, are accessible on the premises of the SRA. Full-text search allows you to quickly find information.
The FRANTIQ Catalogue, of the Frantiq documentary network (see below), giving access to the references of the archaeological documentation centre’s collection, but also to those of some forty libraries specializing in archaeology and related fields. It also offers full-text documents.
The link aggregator Pearltrees which presents a selection made by the documentalists of the SRA and the Research Center in Archaeology, Archeosciences, History (CreAAH).

Its network
An important partnership has been established with the CReAAH library, (Centre de Recherche en Archéologie, Archéosciences et Histoire - UMR 6566 - CNRS), managed by Catherine GORLINI. For the past five years, the two structures frantiq network (Federation and Resources on Antiquity).
This group of libraries and documentation centres offers various documentary services, including a common computer catalogue specializing in the sciences of Prehistory, Antiquity, the Middle Ages and archeosciences.
This online catalogue is available to the public. It allows the search of documents in all libraries of the network among all the structures of the Frantiq network.

The documentation centre is open to all: professionals, archaeology students, researchers, or simply passionate about this field of research.
