As part of its policy related to the French language, the DRAC relies on the Semaine de la langue française et de la francophonie, organized every year around the date of March 20 (Journée internationale de la francophonie), to:
- to raise awareness of the role of the language and the importance of its mastery – both personally and professionally;
- allow the expression of the greatest number;
- facilitate dialogue between populations – in France and abroad – living in geographical, socio-economic or cultural contexts
very different;
- Encourage cultural institutions to take the linguistic dimension into account in their local action by developing initiatives;
around the language;
- to promote the cooperation of various bodies grouped together around a common project and to encourage their networking.
The regional echo of the Week has made it possible to make it a tool for “expanding audiences” and to include this event in a sustainable cultural action programme.
To carry out this programme, the DRAC supports regional-scale structures that can coordinate initiatives that can bring together organizations – cultural, socio-cultural, social, educational… – involved in the Week’s flagship proposalsay ten words to me".
