Victor Lanoux embodied the vitality of post-war France and the magic of cinema, which enabled a Simca worker to become one of the French' favorite actors in a few years.
During his long and very rich career, in the films of Yves Boisset, Jean-Charles Tacchella and Yves Robert, he always chose roles that allowed him to express his humanity by allowing all that was tender and warm in him to emerge, all that, for many, made him so endearing.
He was an actor full of humour, which he had been able to cultivate from his beginnings in the cabaret, alongside his faithful friend Pierre Richard, but he also showed his talent on stage, under the direction of Georges Wilson and Roger Planchon, interpreting texts by Shakespeare, Brecht or Giraudoux.
Audrey Azoulay, Minister of Culture and Communication, sends her sincere condolences to her family and loved ones.
