This Monday, July 24, as part of a joint trip with Jean-Michel Blanquer, Minister of National Education, Françoise Nyssen participated, along with 2,500 children from leisure centres in the Ile-de-France «A holiday day in Versailles», intended to make discover the castle and its domain to young people who do not have the opportunity to go on holiday. The operation initiated by the Emerige group, a sponsor of the public establishment, will allow 5,000 young people to visit the Versailles estate during the summer holidays over two days. Alongside the children, Françoise Nyssen was able to appreciate the quality of the course proposed by the teams of the castle and the estate of Versailles, which raises awareness of architecture, but also gardens, contemporary art and the history of Court life.
Encourage cultural actors to make the youngest and most disadvantaged aware of art and culture in all its forms
It is then at the heart of a “literary amusement park” installed in Pantin (93) that Françoise Nyssen met the children and associations participating in some 20 festive and free animations that combine games and youth literature, proposed by the Salon de la Presse et de la Littérature Jeunesse. Great feast of books and youth, «Go to book» is a national event, organized by the National Book Centre (CNL), which aims to take the book out of the usual places to go to meet children and young people and to transmit to them the pleasure of reading.
After this first dedicated day, other trips on the ground will be an opportunity to salute the commitment of heritage institutions and to meet cultural mediators, associations, recreation centres and artists involved in these essential facilities for arts and cultural education. Françoise Nyssen will participate in workshops at the beginning of August “This is my heritage” to further encourage cultural actors to make young and disadvantaged people aware of art and culture in all its formsThis year, 210 sites will welcome 40,000 young people during the school holidays.
During the summer period, the actors of live performance and plastic arts, are also mobilized to welcome children and adolescents. Initiatives supported by the Ministry of Culture such as “Les Échappées Belles” supported by the 61 national stage in Alençonoffers 20 shows, including 9 free. For contemporary art, the Regional Contemporary Art Funds (FRAC) open this summer offer specific programming for younger and remote audiences.
