Françoise Nyssen, Minister of Culture, welcomes the adoption of the amendment "loto patrimoine" by the Parliament at first reading of the discussion on the draft amending finance law for 2017 (December 8, 2017 by the National Assembly and December 15, 2017 by the Senate).
This amendment allows the French to create a heritage lotto games, which will be drawn on the occasion of the European Heritage Days (15 and 16 September 2018) and specific scratch games dedicated to heritage. The share of the revenues of these games belonging to the State, estimated at 20 million euros, will be allocated from 2018 to a specific fund within the Heritage Foundation.
The allocation of this levy will be the subject of an agreement between the Ministry of Culture and the Heritage Foundation to determine the restoration projects that will benefit from this new resource.
This fund will be used for the rehabilitation of heritage in danger, protected or not under the title of historic monuments, identified in particular within the framework of the mission entrusted by the President of the Republic to Stéphane Bern through the platform put online by the Ministry of Culture: http://www.patrimoineimmobilierenperil.fr
It will also benefit from the restoration of monuments managed by the National Monuments Centre.
All of this is part of the multiannual strategy for heritage that the Minister of Culture presented last November, and which outlines its action in this area for the coming years.
