On the proposal of the jury, Françoise Nyssen, Minister of Culture, gave her approval to the appointment of Laurent Dréano as National Director, Maison de la Culture d'Amiens, in agreement with Alain Gest, President of Amiens Métropole.
Starting from the lines of forces constituting the identity of the Maison de la Culture d'Amiens, Laurent Dréano’s project proposes a multidisciplinary program marked by a strengthening of the presence of dance, a highlighting of writings intended for young audiences, punctuated with white cards entrusted to artists. The production will retain a prominent place, from the identification and support of emerging artists to the accompaniment of the most confirmed.
Finally, Laurent Dréano wants to open this historic scene, pioneer of dramatic decentralization, to all populations, and especially to youth.
Laurent Dréano was director of artistic programming at the Public Establishment of the Park and the Grande Halle de La Villette, coordinator of Lille 2004 and director general of the services of the City of Lille, in charge of culture. He was also advisor in charge of live performance and artistic creation to the Minister of Culture and Communication.
Laurent Dréano succeeds Gilbert Fillinger, whose minister wishes to salute the action over the past thirteen years. With a committed team at his side, he was able to write a new chapter extending the prestigious history of the Maison de la Culture d'Amiens and its national and international reputation.
