Aurélie Filippetti, Minister of Culture and Communication, today announced the winners of the 2014 session of the Albums des jeunes architectes et paysagistes.
The main objective of the Albums des jeunes architectes et paysagistes competition is to promote access to commissions for young people under 35 from these two professions. To address this issue, the action of the Ministry of Culture and Communication is focused in particular on the promotion of talent and the valorization of projects.
Organized every two years with the support of the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine, the "Albums" are open to young European and foreign architects and landscape designers who have carried out a project or participated in a competition in France. The winners are selected for the quality of their project design, their ability to respond to current architectural, landscape or urban issues, as well as for the uniqueness of their careers.

The 2014 jury, chaired by Aurélie Filippetti, Minister of Culture and Communication, was co-chaired by Jacqueline Osty, landscape designer, 2005 Landscape Award and Marc Barani, architect, 2013 National Grand Prix of Architecture.
Composed of 24 members including architects, landscapers, contractors, representatives of the press and institutional actors, this jury, which met on 1er and April 2, reviewed 225 files, from an international call for applications.
The new winners will benefit from a promotion campaign implemented by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, in collaboration with the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine and the Institut français.
It includes in particular:
- A website : www.ajap.culture.gouv.fr
- A bilingual catalogue which presents the portrait and work of the laureates. This publication will be widely distributed in France and Europe, particularly among public and private contractors.
- A travelling exhibition projects of the winners will be carried out by the City of Architecture and Heritage. A version of this exhibition, co-produced with the French Institute, will be specifically adapted to an international travelling event. The exhibition will be the occasion, in each place where it is presented, to organize debates and meetings with the local circles of architecture, landscape and culture. The scenography is traditionally done by a winner of the previous session of the Albums des jeunes architectes et paysagistes. For the 2014 session, it will be entrusted to the agency Ciguë, winner AJAP 2012. The exhibition will be curated by journalist Alice Bialestowski.
- A sponsorship circle, composed of some sixty members, including public and private contractors, distributors and local and regional authorities, will support the winners, in order to accompany them in their first professional steps and help them to make themselves known.
Thanks to this scheme, in the space of two years, the seventeen winners of the previous session took part in 255 commissions, works and competitions, participated in 70 exhibitions, 150 publications and conferences, and obtained 35 awards and distinctions.
